Spanish company ACESUR (the world’s biggest olive oil producer) has appointed Creative Orchestra Advertising to run all their UK marketing for their La Española brand.
The market is currently dominated by two big Italian brands, Napolina and Filippo Berio, who have the main share of market which is about £60m between them.
The Spanish brand has plans to take a significant share of the Extra Virgin and Virgin Olive Oil market.
Trust in Italian oils has recently been undermined after reports showed a significant amount of Italian olive oils had been diluted with lesser oils and in some cases were fake – died soya oils.
The popularity of Spanish food in the UK, and the fact that over 12m of us holiday in Spain annually, combined with a growing desire to cook original meals, has created a growing demand for Spanish ingredients.
Creative Orchestra will start work in January with the launch of a new campaign targeting conscientious cooks to position the brand at the centre oƒ great eating in the UK.
We will also be creating a new B2B campaign to help La Espanola increase distribution – the brand is currently selling Virgin Olive Oil, Olive Oil and truffle oil in Waitrose, Ocardo, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Asda.
